Together with some 40 fellow independent music critics from all over the world, I’m curating a monthly list called the Transglobal World Music Chart. Each month we cherrypick 40 world music albums one should not miss. In a time of short-lived Spotify playlists and YouTube, it’s a way to revalue the album format, slow listening and the vinyl experience.
The december edition is now on line, with two oldies but goodies (with new material) on top: Boubacar Traore and Kronos Quartet. Reminiscin’ KarKar’s wonderful performance in the now defunct Zuiderpershuis (Antwerpen), many years ago (in Dutch).
