Yesterday I went to the second edition of Wonderfeel in ‘s-Graveland near Hilversum. A new festival which aims for a rethinking of the way we present and enjoy classical and contemporary music. I really liked the Ongehoord stage, with highlights like Diamanda Dramm + Helena Basilova playing Prokofiev’s Violin Sonata No. 1 (opus 80), composed between 1938 and 1946.

Kapok + Ragazze Quartet + Slagwerk Den Haag completely knocked me off my feet with a gorgeous and very intense rendition of Terry Riley’s In C (1964). Have a look at Ragazze’s studio performance with Kapok in Vrije Geluiden. I also added a short smartphone impression of the magical moment the players of Slagwerk Den Haag join in for the ritual.
