Shock-black bubble-doun-beat bouncing

reggae sounds LKJ

Linton Kwesi Johnson, Tings an times – selected poems © Bloodaxe Books/LKJ Music, 1991.

Currently writing several texts, a.o. on Dr. Jordan Institute – an interesting new outfit with classically trained soprano and PhD in Music Performance Studies Nicole Jordan, Stefan Kruger (from Zuco 103 fame, drums+production) and Mark Tuinstra (a.o. The Nordanians and Bernie’s Lounge, guitar+production).

Jordan comes from Trinidad, we had a nice phoner and now I’m rediscovering fellow Trinidadian Anthony Joseph and the kindrid spirit / poet Linton Kwesi Johnson in my music and book department. This wonderful poem by LKJ gets even better when you hear the sounds.

Don’t forget to check out Dr. Jordan Institute, they will launch their first digital 11 track album in the Volkshotel Amsterdam, March 14th and Vessel 11 Rotterdam, March 15th.
